WHERE: Km 42 Sukunka Forestry Road, Tumbler Ridge.
Our Summer Music Festival Series takes us north on the road to Awakening Music Festival!
Coming to life for its first time, this gathering will take place in the beautiful Sukunka Valley, of northern B.C. Awakening offers that fine balance of music, art and entertainment that characterizes our summer Festivals, but with a uniqueness that comes from the Spirit of the North.
You might recognize the Bouncy Bass of JPod the Beat Chef welcoming you to Awakening Music Festival and that’s because the talented producer will be taking his tasteful fusion of soulful sounds, crispy rhythms and bold basslines North as one of the main headliners for the event along side long time friend and partner in crime Stickybdus.
Over the years, Jason has created many summer loving and joyful sets that have been the source of much year-round elation. Last year he revisited and combined the moody sounds of blues with the upbeat feeling of swing with the third instalment of the Bliss Coast Series: Blue & Bebop (with an endless array of Freebies that can be found here), while this year’s summer theme is set to take you on a musical journey exploring Mambo & Motown.
Needless to say, Jpod’s set surely be one of the highlights of this festival – it will certainly be one of ours! To listen to some of Jpod’s experimentations in deep, and imaginative midtempo sounds check out his latest original release on Addictech: Taking a Deep Breath.
Joining him in this Northern Adventure will be long time friend Stickybuds.
Tyler has now been making his mark on music well outside the boarders of Canada, touring extensively as an ambassador of the West Coast Funk in more than 14 countries all over the world, but his heart always holds a special place for his native B.C. and his summer Festival sets hold that special energy guaranteed to get the dance-floor bouncing.
A wonderful selection of local and international Artist (full line-up here), beautiful surroundings, Spiritual Healing, Yoga, Hooping and Dancing workshops: The stage is set for a great gathering.
