Another month has gone by with plenty of sunshine and a little rain as to be expected, but life is busy sometime and it can sweep you away before you can press play.
So in case you missed it, here is a look back at all the juicy goodness that kept us good company in this month: liquid sunshine for your ears with the Danio artists
Most of the Danio artists are in full lock-down mode at the moment: pre-festival season means studio time, cooking up fresh beats to showcase during the many music festivals that will keep us entertained over the beautiful summer months.
Our journey discovering the nature of these gatherings, their inspiration and the people that created them started with Bushwhacked Music Festival, in beautiful Beaverdell, B.C.
A labor of love, 6 years in the making, Bushwacked has transformed into a fusion of music, visual entertainment, nature, technology, and colorful art as it consciously grew thanks to the vision and the passion of Geminate Production and Envasion.
An Array of Local & International Talent, The Horse Portal and our own JPOD were just a few of the highlights of a Festival that promised to turn the dance floor in a smile faculty and that delivered a lot more.
JPOD in particular put on his virtuoso hat with his truly unique style and abilities transforming main stage in a sweaty, joyful mess of smiles.
More access to JPOD here:
So keep a close eye on this Festival series as the Danio Train will be travelling across Canada discovering the inspiration and the music of the Summer of 2014:

Australia’s funkiest DJ/Producer SLYNK has recently returned from his whirlwind tour of Europe with a sore neck due to the excessive headbanging at shows and many new stickers to add to his collection.
Since relocating to Vancouver, Canada in July last year, Slynk has been busy taking his distinct blend of Funky Breaks/Glitch-Hop/Drum & Bass and straight up Funk all over the globe: the past 12 months have seen him come home from his first European tour, perform nationally across Canada, dominate the North American festival scene, and stop back down under to Australia & NZ for a set of dates.
And to celebrate this second European Funk Adventure, Slynk left a little present on the way:
As always, the tune holds that special energy that characterizes Slynk’s Music: smile provoking and prone to cause crazy dance moves – so use at your own discretion!

And Salento (Italy), at the unique Babilonia
The mighty Basement Freaks also celebrated his return to the beautiful Balkans unleashing this dance-floor monster of a Mash up.

In other news, it is with a little sadness that Giorgi decieded to announce the end of Bombastic Jam, the infamous label he birthed and headed for the last several years.
A true work of love, over the years Bombastic Jam has brought together artists from all over the world with quality releases, unique collaborations and a keen ear for the freshest sounds in the business: from dance floor fillers to hammock chillers Bombastic Jam has proudly and consistently delivered entertainment to your ears like this slice of silly side slapping funk featuring Timothy Wisdom that’ll make any block party bounce.
Nothing but good old fashioned pride for a project that might be coming to its end but that has united funk lovers from all over the globe under one shaking roof and big big ups to all the artists that have chosen and supported Bombastic as a platform fro their music and to all of you for supporting our artists and buying our music.
While bombastic Jam will be no longer, the music will still be available for your listening pleasure and some will become available as a free download; so do take the time to connect directly with each of your favorite “Bombastic” artists via social media.
The Diabolical duo has been a guaranteed of quality over the past few years and this month proved extremely prolific for one half of Wood n Soo in particular – the half that managed to get a little extra sleep.
Blending huge slabs of Glitchy Bass over phat, chunky beats, Sky High has been steadily climbing the Beatport charts staying true to its name.
And the Chopping Block is back as well (Volume 1 here) delighting our ears with international sounds of reggae & dancehall!
Stickybuds was on the road again, direction USA, to celebrate music and dance in the legendary Wakarusa 2014! Music Festival.
Tyler has spoiled us over the years with his many appearances in the northern cousin of Wakarusa – Shambhala Music Festival – and it was a real pleasure to see him taking his unique blend to this amazing gathering that included the talent of Bassnectar, Michael Franti & the Spearhead, the String Cheese Incident, the Funk Hunters, Fort Knox Five among others.
